RE: E/R On line entry is up and running ! More info inside

Know what guys this just gets old. Everybody moaning about every little thing. There is no one getting rich in this sport. You do it because you love it. Believe me I know what it is like to be on a racing budget. Also on a promotors budget. Ten bucks here sixty five bucks there seam like a lot. Reality check, they are nothing. Maybe we should just be lucky to have a place to race our ten thousand dollar race sleds whether it be vintage or modern. As a racer we spend countless hours in the shop building, hundreds of dollars in parts, hundreds of dollars in practice, just so we can go fast, hundreds of dollars on race weekend to win maybe a couple of hundred dollars. (doesn't seem right does it) As a promoter we spend countless hours planning, building, begging for sponsors, bailing hay(when was the last time any of you spent two solid weekends in October bailing thousands bails of hay), and spend thousands of dollars(that is right I said thousands) to give everybody a place to race. Then you have a race scheduled against you and not that many racers to go around. So everything you have worked for all year depends on a pool tournament to make you some money. Lets get real. How about this, a trail sled(cost is about the same as a race sled)Maybe more, countless hours marking trail(like my dad) insurance on your trail sled, hundreds of dollars in motel rooms to go trail riding, fees to pay to ride on the trails. Moan on their sites that the trails are to rough!!!!!

RE: Did we loose another driver?

Maybe lost another snowcross driver. Danielle won her first feature last week, in only her second night at kart racing on a dirt oval. We are blessed to have such a great mechanic.

RE: Meeting in E/R on Sunday 20th 11:30

Well this was an interesting week, just watching on this forum what came out of the meeting. I attended the meeting at Eagle River as both an oval racer and part of a promoters group. In all honesty as our president of "Fire on Ice" Dewey and I drove to ER we had no idea why we were going there. I guess it was because we have a passion for the sport. So now that everyone has spoke their opinion I am going to speak mine. Please keep in mind I have not been an oval racer for a long time, however, I have been around snowmobiling for a long time. I started oval racing because my son snowcrossed raced and we were at the races anyhow. So since did my daughter start racing(since we were there). I started racing sportsman 600 on a Formula z then a Formula III then my son retired from racing and I turned his 05 rev into a stock oval sled. Then I got an 08 xp to run in the stock class. Why??? The reason I run all stock stuff at my age, even though I have been told to move to sprint or some other class because they handle so much better and you can drive them(much easier than a 96 F-III) is because I am a firm believer that as a fan you want to see on the race track what you ride on the trail. I am a firm believer in this to the point where my mechanic wants to build a limited 500 for me to drive and I told him as long as it looks like a ski-doo xp I would, otherwise not. Why do you think vintage has gotten so popular? People can relate to the sleds. You can't tell me that when you see a Merc twister it doesn't raise a hair on your back, give me a 340 RV. I am not getting an adorsment from Ski-doo they are just the sleds I grew up on and my dad has trail rode like 30 different models. So my point on stock, I really do not care, make all sleds racing look like one of the mf's. That is what people come to see. Just a thought though, maybe if stock was stock I would not be sitting home on a Sat. night broke from trying to pay for my Super Stocker and it would be more affordable to attract new racers. As a racer in Stock, I had more fun not winning and racing eight guys than I did winning against one guy in my home town(sorry Rob) As a promoter: We had alot going on(we have great gore group) and saturday at Weyauwega was awesome we wish that the snow storm that suspended Sunday would not have happened, however, it did this year. We still had a good payout for all of our youth groups that help in this event. We are moving forward to promote our event as well as the entire sport of snowmobile racing and I would like to thank everyone that has supported us. We really appreciate any feedback negative or positive so we can improve on this sport. Remember that if we do not communicate and strive for excellance we do not survive(kinda like a marriage). RE: Where was #66 this weekend?

AM Dayton did a great job your team was well represented. Just an FYI Danielle won 120 Champ. She held off 9 others for the win. She raced her butt off. Not so good for the rest of the team. She also cannot wait to race ovals. See you in ER and the best of luck to your team.
